The ship had a perfect position in Monte Carlo to capitalize on views. My favorite ports, however, were the smaller ones, like Zadar and Sibenik in Croatia. I was unfamiliar with both cities, but quickly fell in love with their Old Towns, seafront promenades, and the welcoming people who were eager to ask about our ship and itinerary. We did have an AzAmazing evening opera performance in a historical coastal fortification that lived up to the marketing promise; but, I wouldn’t stand in line to do it again. We also had an onboard White Night party on the pool deck that included local musicians, a buffet, performances from the ship’s troupe, and a parade of the onboard crew. It delivered on the promise of a White Night pool deck party and was something different.In addition to the live entertainment, Azamara has a television in each guest room. Unfortunately, the TV is limited to one movie each day that runs in a loop. Similarly, there is one TV series that runs in a continual loop each day. Too bad.I mentioned that we booked an Ocean Suite which included complimentary specialty dining.

As a result, cabins can seem compact, but there is still enough space for a sofa and desk in the corner. Beds are really comfortable with cushioned mattresses, plump pillows, and a duvet. The ship has inside cabins, standard window cabins facing outward, some with balconies, and several suite categories. Food onboard is wonderful, with diverse menus that have an international flair and can accommodate a range of tastes and dietary needs. The Windows Cafe offers simple yet tasty fare, with themed dinners every night, freshly squeezed juice at breakfast, and a changing selection of multiple flavours of gelato for lunch and dinner.

Passengers used to be able to use cobranded Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean International credit cards to book Azamara voyages, but it's unclear whether that is still possible, given Azamara's split from Royal Caribbean Group. Azamara's loyalty program, Azamara Circle, has five tiers for passengers to reach, based on the number of points they earn each time they sail. With each new tier, they unlock additional benefits, such as free Wi-Fi minutes, complimentary laundry service and discounts on spa treatments and future cruise bookings.
We saw several families with children on our summer cruise who were making the best of what was on offer. However, overall, Azamara Quest isn't well suited to those travelling with kids. The pool deck, spa area and Windows Cafe are located on Deck 9. For a light bite on a sunny day, The Patio dishes up burgers, kebabs, hot dogs and soft serve yoghurts. The Sunset Bar is located on the aft end of this deck and comes with wraparound ocean views.
Deck 5 houses the bulk of the public areas including the theatre, bars and shops, Mosaic Cafe and the ships main dining room, Discoveries Restaurant. The immersive experience, which takes place on land, is a memorable experience of local entertainment and traditional performances available to all passengers. The petite bathrooms are functional, with shelf space and plenty of towels; the showers, however, are small, and the curtains feel a bit “old school.” I found the water pressure to be excellent though. Bare feet, vest tops, caps, swimwear, shorts, and ripped jeans aren’t permitted in the main dining room or specialty restaurants. Dinner tends to be a dressier affair with suits and long dresses and heels the norm. All meals are held in two main restaurants, Discoveries and Windows Cafe. Ultimately they backed off and agreed to refund the money. But, I would double-check everything and look for unsupported costs. Anything we missed Azamara offers several special events on every cruise that are complimentary for all guests. For the AzAmazing Evening, every passenger receives an invitation to a special event on shore; on my sailing, we attended an outdoor opera and aperitif tasting in an Italian fort near Rome. There is also a White Night buffet on the pool deck with all kinds of food stations and live music.
